New York, NY – July 1, 2024 – The Illuminating Engineering Society of New York City (IESNYC) proudly announces the launch of the Guiding Lights Circle, a transformative mentorship initiative designed to enrich the talents of both established and emerging professionals within the lighting industry.
The Guiding Lights Circle is dedicated to fostering professional growth and community connection. By pairing aspiring lighting professionals with experienced mentors, this program aims to provide invaluable guidance, industry insights, and networking opportunities that will empower the next generation of lighting experts.
“Guiding Lights Circle represents our commitment to nurturing the next generation of lighting professionals. By fostering these mentor-mentee relationships, we aim to create a supportive and enriching environment that will benefit both the individuals and the industry as a whole,” said Shoshanna Segal, President of the IESNYC, Hartranft Lighting Design.
Program Overview:
The program seeks mentors with at least five years of industry experience and mentees with up to five years of experience, aiming to select 10 mentors and 10 mentees for this pilot program.
Participants will engage in monthly one-on-one meetings and are encouraged to attend group workshops covering various industry topics. Networking events will also be organized to enhance industry connections.
Both mentors and mentees will benefit significantly: mentors can share their expertise, stay updated on industry trends, and develop leadership skills, while mentees gain access to career guidance, professional development activities, and expanded networks.
The mentorship initiative is open to all current IESNYC members and will run for six months, from September 16, 2024, to March 14, 2025. Key dates include an application deadline of August 9, 2024, with notifications of acceptance sent by August 30, 2024.
