CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: 2025 RICHARD KELLY GRANT

New York, NY — The Illuminating Engineering Society New York City Section (IESNYC) is pleased to announce the Call for Submissions for the 2025 Richard Kelly Grant, which recognizes and supports emerging talents in the field of illumination. The Grant honors the legacy of Richard Kelly, a pioneer in architectural lighting design.

The Richard Kelly Grant is a program designed to encourage young people who are passionate about light and demonstrate an innovative approach to light, as art and/or science. Administered by the IESNYC under the auspices of the IES, the Grant is open to individuals 35 and under, studying or working in the art and/or science of illumination, in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. The purpose of the Grant is to recognize and encourage creative thought and activity in the use of light.

 Eligibility & Criteria

Applicants must be 35 years or younger and engaged in the art and/or science of illumination. The Grant Committee seeks individuals who demonstrate both accomplishment and the potential to contribute to the field. Submissions may include proposed, ongoing, or completed work that illustrates the conceptual or applied use of light in new and innovative ways to solve or better understand a problem.

Eligible disciplines include: Architecture, Art, Education, Environmental Design, Health, Fixture Design, Software Design, Theater.
