Espen Technology continues to expand its Sentinel family of emergency solutions for LED lighting, which includes Type A emergency ballasts for use with existing fluorescent ballasts, Type B emergency inverters for use with line voltage TLEDs or fixtures, Type C emergency drivers for use with encased LED drivers, and stand-alone emergency back-up kits. One of the most recent EM solutions added to the Sentinel family is an LED emergency driver.

CEA-Leti Breaks Throughput Record for LiFi Using Micro LEDs
CEA-Leti recently announced its researchers have broken the throughput world record of 5.1 Gbps in visible light communications (VLC) using a single GaN blue micro- light-emitting diode (LED). Their data transmission rate of 7.7 Gbps achieved with a 10 µm microLED marks another step toward commercialization and widespread use of LiFi communication.
