LightFair 2025 Call For Speaker Deadline Is 10/11/24

LightFair 2025 Call For Speaker Deadline Is 10/11/24

Author’s Note, 10/12/24: LightFair has extended the speaker submission deadline to October 18th, 2024.

The call for speakers for LightFair 2025 is open, with a deadline to apply of October 11, 2024 (next Friday!). LightFair did not issue a press release about it, as in previous years, and there has been almost no trade press coverage for the call for speakers opening. This is the first LightFair run by Messe Frankfurt, which many readers may know runs Light+Building, in Frankfurt, Germany.

This is also the first LightFair on the new biennial schedule (every other year). Messe Frankfurt did issue a public call for speakers on its social media sites, but this is far short of the usual announcements via press releases and the resulting trade press coverage. I do not know if this “quiet” call for speakers was intentional or accidental. It could potentially jeopardize the size and quality of the LFI25 conference.

Presenting at LightFair is a paid speaking opportunity. Those selected receive:

  • Accommodations (one night) *Travel and incidentals excluded
  • Custom LightFair branded graphics to promote your session(s)
  • 3-Day Unlimited Conference/Exhibit Hall access (excludes Pre-Conference)
  • Networking opportunities at LightFair
  • Honorarium

LightFair trade show and conference will take place May 4–8, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The event is looking for speakers from a variety of backgrounds, including designers, engineers, architects, and scientists. LightFair is produced by Messe Frankfurt, the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).

More information about the call for speakers, as well as the online submission portal, can be accessed here.
