The DALI Alliance, TALQ Consortium, and Zhaga Consortium have signed a liaison agreement to unify data streams for smart street lighting systems. This collaboration aims to enhance interoperability among outdoor lighting solutions, simplifying investment decisions for public and private sectors.
DALI develops digital lighting control specifications based on the IEC 62386 standard, offering certification programs like DALI-2 and D4i to ensure seamless integration of lighting components. TALQ has established a global standard for outdoor lighting management, recently expanding to include other smart city applications such as waste management and environmental sensing. Zhaga focuses on creating interface specifications for LED components, promoting compatibility across manufacturers.
This partnership will streamline data exchange and improve communication in smart street lighting applications. It aims to align the specifications of DALI, TALQ, and Zhaga with the requirements of outdoor lighting control systems.
Paul Drosihn from DALI emphasized that the D4i certification is crucial for integrating streetlights into smart city applications, enhancing sustainability and data collection. Simon Dunkley from TALQ noted that collaboration leads to better standards and more sustainable investments for cities. Heinrich Thye from Zhaga expressed excitement about working together to promote interoperability.
