The number of trade shows and conferences devoted to lighting controls, Smart Home, IoT, and Smart Cities continues to grow. Here are some of the most relevant shows for the lighting controls industry, many of which began in the last 3-4 years:

DLC Controls Summit

The DLC Controls Summit is devoted to achieving the potential to optimize building energy savings by integrating lighting controls with other building systems. This includes the value of integrating networked lighting controls (NLCs) with HVAC systems to save an additional 30% of HVAC energy in large buildings.

This summit is an opportunity for professionals who design, promote, install, and incentivize lighting controls to network, learn, and collaborate on ways to break down the barriers implementing and integrating lighting controls in facilities of all sizes.

NYControlled

NYControlled is a controls-focused, one-day show aimed at a broad range of professionals looking to see the latest lighting controls technology and products, learn about the rapidly changing industry through a series of technical lectures from respected experts, and interact with the top manufacturers and minds in the industry.

Created jointly by the IESNYC and DLFNY, the event responds directly to the demand for concrete, practical information. It seeks to make education accessible and inspiring for all lighting professionals.

NYConrolled is scheduled for October 29th in New York City. The registration fee is $25, which includes access to both the exhibit hall and educational sessions. Educational sessions are free to attend. However, registration for each session is required and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Of note, students with identification are admitted to NYControlled for free. Registration and other information is avaialble  here.

I haven’t listed the IES Street & Area Lighting Conference (SALC) above, but it could be argued that it is 50% about lighting and 50% about Smart City control platforms.
