ArchLIGHT Summit Experiences and Educational Sessions Announced

ArchLIGHT Summit, the two day lighting industry event held each fall at Dallas Market Center, has developed a reputation for curating quality educational sessions and offering unique, experiential displays to expand attendees knowledge, understanding and professional skills.

This year’s event offers three immersive experiences:

  • Behavioral Health Experience – sponsored by Visa Lighting
  • UGR Experience – sponsored by Zumtobel
  • The Architectural Visualization Experience – “Immersive Yourself in Light” tm – sponsored by The Lighting Exchange

And there are more than 20 AIA and IDCEC accredited sessions. Some highlights include:

  • The How, Why and When of Systems Integration – John Mears  – This presentation will focus on when, why and how to engage a systems integrator to ensure a painless and successful end result.
  • Photometry in Action – Craig A. Bernecker, Ph.D., FIESNA, LC   – This hands-on workshop will explore luminaire photometry to be delivered using a bench-top goniophotometer fully capable of generating a complete luminaire photometric report, including luminous intensity and spectral data along with a .ies file.
  • Indian Community School Case Study – Avraham Mor  – Indigenous culture is at the heart of Indian Community School in Franklin, Wisconsin. Designed by studio: indigenous, the 150,000-square-foot school serving grades K4-8 merges cultural values with education by bringing the surrounding natural environment into the striking interior learning spaces and gathering centers.
  • Concept to Construction: Working Better Together  –  This panel discussion brings together architectural design consultants and lighting business partners to discuss their role in the process of specifying lighting and the challenges they face to see a project develop from concept through construction.  This conversation invites partners to ask important questions, challenge the process, and identify ways to work better together to reach mutual goals.
  • Lighting Designer Says “Tomato”, Owner Hears “Orange” – Katherine Stekr and Michelle Murray   – Managing and working through realistic (and sometimes not realistic) owner perceptions on lighting design can add another layer of complexity to project outcomes.

Access to the ArchLight Summit show floor is free with advanced registration. Attendees will enjoy two days of networking, hospitality events, and immersive experiences. There is a flat $50 registration fee to access the sessions.

The event kicks off on the evening of Monday, September 16, with the WILD Welcome Party hosted by Women In Lighting + Design. The show floor is open and sessions are offered on Tuesday, September 17, and Wednesday, September 18.

The ArchLIGHT Summit website details all of the available sessions as well as registration information.
