LED Lighting Rated Up To 212oF

Most people in the lighting industry know that high heat can destroy both LED’s and drivers, especially drivers containing electrolytic capacitors. However, there are classes of both LED emitters and luminaires that are designed to withstand high operating temperatures, up to 212oF. Example applications include lighting for steel mills, blast furnaces, pulp & paper plants, painting facilities, offshore platforms, oil & gas complexes, and more.

The image above is of one example of a high temp industrial luminaire, rated up to 212oF. But how can LED luminaires survive such temperatures? One technique is to remote the driver up to 250’ away from the high heat environment. Another technique is to utilize special high temperature LED emitters. See image below. These LED emitters are also rated to operate in temperatures up to 212oF.

Some manufacturers producing high temperature luminaires and LED emitters include:

The above is not intended to be a complete listing of high temperature product manufacturers. If you know of other manufacturers in this high temperature category, please share in the comment section below.
