DOE Lighting R&D Program Has Two Open Funding Opportunities

The U.S. DOE Lighting R&D Program has two open funding opportunities:

  1. The SBIR Program is looking to fund development of Advanced Lighting Fixtures, horticultural lighting, and germicidal UV solutions. Letters of intent for the SBIR are due Jan. 3. The DOE also has the BENEFIT FOA with concept papers due 12/18/23. SBIR link.
  1. The BENEFIT FOA lighting topic (#4) is looking for advancements in commercial lighting products, including high efficiency with good color quality, ease of selection and use, and supportive of occupant health and wellbeing. These are cutting edge lighting topics with major energy, productivity, and health impacts. BENEFIT link.
