What Lighting Manufacturers And Designers Should Know About LERN

IALD LERN is a new continuing education program that will connect professionals involved in lighting design and specification with high-quality design education. IALD is seeking partners to become early adaptors and help shape the future of the program.

IALD LERN will provide a platform to connect content providers’ educational material to IALD members. Partners, such as manufacturers, providing the content are charged a fee for peer review, content hosting, and connection to the IALD network. IALD members access the educational content for free. Non-members are able to access the content for an additional fee. IALD LERN was developed by the IALD Lighting Industry Resource Council (LIRC), to make high quality education available across the globe.

Content will go through a peer review process to ensure that the program is offering the highest quality professional education. The review panel is formed of IALD members who work via an agreed scoring matrix and guidance documents ensure that all content submitted meets the required quality standard.

Content suppliers are able to submit education at different levels from beginner to advanced, giving the broadest scope to engage with the lighting community at a variety of levels. Completing this peer review process gives content credibility and endorsement by IALD LERN, allowing it to be identified easily as high quality educational content. More information on IALD LERN is available here.
