Award Application Announcements

  • The National Lighting Bureau (NLB) is now accepting submissions for the 3rd Annual Art & Science of Lighting Awards. The awards recognize new products that advance the following categories:
    • The Science of Lighting Award 
    • The Art of Lighting Award
    • The Art and Science of Lighting Award
      A lighting product meets the criteria for both the Art and Science of Lighting categories
    • While the awards are for products, only lighting designers, architects and engineers can nominate. The awards will be presented at LEDucation at the Hilton Midtown in New York on March 7, 2023. Nominate now through January 20, 2023 at nlb.org .
  • Lumen Awards Call for Entries. Deadline extended to: January 20, 2023. Details here. The Lumen Awards are open to any interior or exterior architectural lighting design project completed within two years’ time of the submission deadline. Eligible projects must be designed by a New York City based designer(s) for a project located anywhere in the world — OR — The project must be located in New York City regardless of the location of the designer(s).
  • IES Illumination Awards Call for Entries. Deadline: February 17, 2023. The IES Illumination Awards (IA) program recognizes individuals for professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design based on the individual merit of each entry. Judges are selected from a broad professional spectrum representing knowledge of lighting and design excellence. The judging system is entirely based on how well the lighting design meets the program criteria. The Illumination Awards program is not a competition. Details here.
  • 2023 IESNYC Student Lighting Competition. Student registration to enter is open. Projects must be submitted by March 7, 2023. Cyclical processes are essential for the formation of living systems. This year’s theme, Circle of Light challenges students to construct a three-dimensional study, exploring how light plays a role in the cyclical nature of life. Details here.
  • Good Design Awards – Application Deadline: June 1, 2023 For more than seven decades since its inception, The Chicago Athenaeum continues the program to create an awareness about contemporary design and to honor both products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing that have chartered new directions for innovation and pushed the envelope for competitive products in the world marketplace. Call For Presentations

  • IALD Enlighten 2023 Call for Presentations. Proposal Deadline: January 11, 2023. The Call for Presentations for both Enlighten Europe 2023 in June in Berlin, Germany and Enlighten Americas 2023 in November in Banff, Alberta, Canada is now open, and they are seeking energetic and engaging speakers to lead impactful learning experiences.   • Artificial Light At Night (ALAN) 2023 – Call for Paper Extension – the conference committee has extended the deadline for abstract submission. Submit abstracts at Easy Chair by January 22, 2023.
  • ArchLIGHTSummit 2023 – Call for Speakers Deadline Extended to February 15, 2023. Speakers are invited to submit proposals consistent with the show’s mission to be boldly different and actively inclusive. The most sought-after sessions will be those that break the mold of traditional presentations and panels, in favor of more experiential learning and honest discussions.   • REGISTRATION OPEN LEDucation 2023 Trade Show and Conference. LEDucation will be held March 7–8 at the NY Hilton Midtown and present eight virtual sessions March 6th. Details here.
  • LightFair
    • Trade Show: May 23-25, 2023
    • Conference: May 21-25, 2023
    • Registration opens in February 2023.

Taking place at the Javits Center in New York City, LightFair 2023 is the architectural and commercial lighting event of the year. LightFair will move to a biennial schedule. Learn More.
