The Illuminating Engineering Society’s New York City section have announced 14 winners of the 2020 Lumen Awards, with Cooley Monato Studio and the DLR Group taking top honors.
Cooley Monato Studio won an Award of Excellence for the TWA Hotel and Event Center, Queens, NY, and DLR Group won the same award for the Chandler History Museum: Infinite Shade, Chandler, AZ.
Seven Merit Awards were awarded to: The Vessel New York, NY, by L’Observatoire International; The Well, New York, NY, by BOLD; Royal Caribbean Terminal at PortMiami, Miami, FL, by Focus Lighting; KOMA, Marina Bay, Singapore, by Focus Lighting, Hudson Yards Financial Services Firm, New York, NY, by Lighting Workshop; Comcast Technology Center, Philadelphia, PA, by Tillotson Lighting Associates; Center for Health and Well-Being, Winter Park, FL, by Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design.
Five Citation Awards were presented to: Waterlicht, New York, NY by Studio Roosegaarde for Environmental Awareness; Salvage Swings, New York, NY by TM Light for Unexpected Use of Light; Paradise Club at Times Square EDITION, New York, NY by Fisher Marantz Stone for Creative Use of Color; Mwabwindo School, Mwabwindo Village, Zambia, Renfro Design Group, for Sustainable Daylighting; and Glenstone, Potomac, MD, Arup, for Daylighting Design.
