The DesignLights Consortium recently simplified its policy and reduced the amount of testing required of manufacturers with its revised Testing and Reporting Requirements for DC and power over Ethernet (PoE) Products.
Effective August 15, 2019, products must only be tested at one voltage instead of two.
Non-PoE-based DC products must be tested at the voltage that results in the worst-case efficacy, the same as with traditional AC products.
PoE-based DC products must be tested specifically at 45V, or optionally tested at the minimum PD voltage for the specific Type and Class of the product according to the IEEE 802.3 standard.
