The DesignLights Consortium recently announced an incremental update to the Testing and Reporting Requirements for Horticultural Lighting as Version 1.1. These revisions are designed to streamline the qualification process for horticultural luminaires and are effective immediately.
V1.1 Requirements for LED-based Horticultural Lighting includes:
• A revision to provisional policy allowing non-Photosynthetic Photon Flux (PPF)-based data, allowing lumens- and radiometric-based LM-80 data without a conversion scaling factor until October 15, 2019.
• A revision to the driver testing policy that stipulates that the single worst case thermal environment requires a driver ISTMT for products using multiple drivers from the same manufacturer and product line or series.
• A clarification to the test requirements for PPID and single-channel “tunable” spectral content
• A clarification to the requirements for onboard cooling fans
