Provided for full- and part-time faculty, the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Teachers of Lighting Workshop will be held June 2-7, 2019 at the Hubbell Lighting Solutions Center in Greenville, SC. This workshop provides instruction in the design, science, and technology of lighting. The deadline to apply is February 15.
Topics Covered include terminology, psychological aspects, light sources, luminaires, design process, controls, economics, color, energy management, light and health, exterior and interior lighting design, sustainability, codes, computers as a tool, and daylighting.
The workshop is intended for faculty with major and on-going responsibility for teaching lighting in programs of interior design, theater, building sciences, architecture, engineering, and construction/technology.
Twenty-one grants will be granted by IES to cover tuition, lodging, and meals. Attendees pay a $225 fee and their own transportation expenses.
