Lutron Electronics Identifies Three Key Lighting Trends

Lutron recently alerted the media to three predictions for lighting industry trends in 2019:

1. Human Centric Lighting (HCL): The technology for HCL will continue to advance in all aspects of lighting control. This includes technologies that optimize the integration of comfortable daylight electric light bringing the outdoors in, building a seamless user experience of customized automation and personal control over lighting, and providing dynamic lighting, dimming and color tuning, while maintaining the highest level of color and dimming quality.

2. The Smart Building: Large property owners will look at building systems that can connect all of their spaces together and provide data that allows them to plan real estate and simplify their building’s operations. Building developers will look for building systems that can offer an enhanced occupant experience and easily integrate with other building systems to help them differentiate their offering. Systems that save energy and are easy and fast to install and setup will continue to grow in popularity.

3. WELL Buildings: Lighting and shading solutions will advance to support WELL projects and the WELL standard, improving the user experience of smart lighting to support design and implementation, making more WELL projects successful.
