IECC 2018 Includes Significant Lighting Power and Control Changes

My contribution to the Lighting Controls Association website in July covered major control changes in the 2018 version of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), which was published in 2017.

The 2018 IECC reduces interior and exterior lighting power allowances, creates an alternate path for mandatory lighting control compliance by specifying luminaire-level lighting controls, requires automatic shutoff for special-application lighting such as display and nonvisual applications, and requires occupancy sensors in open office plans.
