Cary S. Mendelsohn, CLMC, has been elected chair of the National Lighting Bureau (NLB), the lighting education foundation. Mendelsohn, the CEO and owner of Imperial Lighting Maintenance Company (Chicago, IL), represents the interNational Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO) on the NLB board of directors.
Howard P. Lewis, who was elected NLB vice chair, represents the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and is associated with Spectro Lume, LLC. Raymond E. “Ray” Kasmark, Jr., the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers’ (IBEW’s) director of business development, was elected secretary/treasurer.
Mendelsohn has been extremely active in the lighting industry for more than four decades, having served on the NALMCO board of directors for eight years, including two years as the organization’s president. He earned his Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC) designation through NALMCO and is also a recipient of NALMCO’s Distinguished Service Award. Mr. Mendelsohn has also served on the IES Maintenance Committee since 1988 and has been an active member of the National Lighting Bureau for more than 20 years.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cary some years ago and admire his professionalism and dedication to the industry. The NLB made a great choice in appointing him chair.
