The Illuminating Engineering Society New York City Section (IESNYC), the largest section in the Society, has announced a call for submissions to the 2014 Lumen Awards.
The Lumen Awards recognize excellence, ingenuity, and professionalism in lighting design and winners are lauded at the Lumen Awards Gala. Submissions are open till February 14, 2014.
The awards program is open to lighting designers and firms located within the geographical confines of the section including New Jersey, and the counties of Dutchess, Columbia, Putnam, and Orange, in New York State. Projects are judged and then awarded in the following categories: Lumen Award of Excellence–the highest level of recognition for permanent architectural application; Lumen Award of Merit–meritorious recognition for permanent architectural application; the Lumen Citation–a special recognition for an art application, technical detail, portion of a single project, temporary installation, or other work; and the Feltman award–for outstanding projects specifically in the area of merchandise lighting, which is given at the discretion of the judges.
