On its blog, Hubbell recently published a primer on color quality by Chris Bailey, Director of company’s Lighting Solutions Center. It begins:
“When it comes to color and light, everyone has an opinion. We use correlated color temperature (CCT) to describe the apparent color of a light source or how “warm” or “cool” the light emitted from a source appears. However, some often mistakenly associate color quality with color temperature. So let’s set the record straight. In this post I will attempt to explain that color quality and color temperature are related, but independent, properties of artificial light sources.”
