On Thursday, February 28, 2013, Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) will hold a webcast on the Lighting Energy Efficiency in Parking (LEEP) campaign. LEEP was launched last fall by BOMA, the Green Parking Council, and the International Facility Management Association to encourage the use of high-efficiency lighting technology in parking lots and parking structures. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Alliance provides technical assistance to LEEP participants who request it.
Intended for parking lot owners and managers, utilities, and other organizations committed to promoting high-efficiency parking lighting solutions, the webcast will highlight successes and lessons learned by innovative parking garage and lot owners in implementing high-efficiency lighting, and may be of interest to those considering solid-state lighting for those applications.
Speakers include Paul Wessel of the Green Parking Council, Ralph Williams of Walmart, Chris Magee of MGM Resorts International, and Dave Mounce of Hines. The webcast will also provide an overview of progress to date toward LEEP’s goal of having 100 million square feet of parking structure or lot space use roughly one-third less energy than ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2010 by November 2013.
The LEEP webcast is scheduled for February 28, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST.
