The Lighting Controls Association recently announced that it has become an American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) provider. In addition, nearly all of the courses in Education Express, authored by Craig DiLouie, LC, are now registered for AIA CES Learning Units (LU) / Healthy Safety Welfare (HSW) / Sustainable Design (SD) credits.
AIA CES is the largest source of education specifically targeted to the design and building industry. Most state licensing boards with MCE requirements recognize AIA CES as the primary source of continuing education for their licensed architects.
The AIA CES LU/HSW/SD credits for Education Express courses will become available February 1, 2013. About 35 LU/HSW/SD credits will be available. A passing grade of 80+% will be required for online exams to qualify for these credits. AIA Members must complete 18 LUs per year, 12 hours being on HSW topics and 4 of the 12 HSW hours being on SD topics.
Education Express will continue to offer CALCTP credits for CALCTP certification of California electrical workers and Learning Education Units (LEUs) for maintenance of the NCQLP’s Lighting Certification (LC). A passing grade of 70+% will be required for online exams to qualify for these credits.
All Education Express courses are free to the public and may be taken at any time at the student’s pace.
