On August 10, 2011, the Utah Uniform Building Codes Commission voted to adopt the 2011 National Electrical Code. Only a single amendment was approved by the Commission: to revert to the wording in the 2005 Edition of the National Electrical Code for ampacity of service conductors and main power feeders for individual dwelling units.
On August 24, 2011 the South Carolina Building Code Council met to discuss the adoption of the latest edition of the ICC family of codes and the 2011 edition of the National Electrical Code.
As required by Chapter 1305.101(a)(2) of the Texas Electrical Safety and Licensing Act, the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation recently adopted the 2011 edition of the National Electrical Code as the “minimum standard” for all nonexempt electrical work in the State of Texas that is covered by the Texas Electrical Safety and Licensing Act effective September 1, 2011, and with all examinations for state electrical licenses being based on the 2011 edition of the National Electrical Code beginning October 1, 2011.
On September 15, 2011 the Iowa state electrical board voted to adopt the 2011 National electrical Code with amendments.
Without prior notice, or opportunity for public comment or input, Washington Governor Christine Gregoire issued Executive Order 11-03 on October 13, 2011, extending the moratorium on non-essential rule making for another year. The effect of this original order to the electrical industry was to halt the adoption process of the 2011 National Electrical Code in mid-stream.
