Good Clean Tech is reporting that IKEA is no longer selling incandescent lamps. The article somewhat erroneously states, however, that all retailers will soon be following IKEA as the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 provisions related to general service incandescent lamps begin to take effect in 2012-2014. Energy-saving halogen-screw in lamps will be available that will provide comparable performance as incandescent while meeting the Act’s efficacy requirements. Hat tip to Randy Smith of the Lighting Design Lab for sending me this story.
