Company Background
Daintree Networks, headquartered in the Silicon Valley, offers an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fast-growing Clean-Technology company poised to lead the rapidly evolving advanced commercial lighting and building controls market. Daintree is positioned to fundamentally alter the market by leveraging its superior ControlScope wireless lighting control platform and architecture to drive true open standards adoption, accelerate market growth for lighting controls, and enable massive improvements in global building energy efficiency. This approach leverages broad interoperability via Daintree’s leadership position in embedded wireless technology and specifically ZigBee, a rapidly adopted communications standard in building and lighting controls.
Daintree’s energy management solutions leverage the company’s past expertise as the leading supplier of tools for embedded wireless developers ‐ a business with nearly 400 customers including leaders in the building automation, lighting, and Utility industry. Daintree has held numerous leadership roles in the embedded wireless industry. Its Chief Solution Architect has chaired the ZigBee Alliance Commissioning Task Group and Daintree products have been used by the ZigBee Alliance for all testing and certification. Based on its expertise, company has also developed custom mission‐critical solutions for Telecommunication Carriers and other smart energy companies. Daintree’s unique capabilities, experience, and focus enables the company to offer a lighting control solution that is robust, lowest in solution cost (deployment payback and installation) and deployable in nearly any environment. In particular, wireless enables the opening of the entire retrofit/renovation market which is arguably 10X larger than the new construction controls market.
Daintree’s core business model is to sell its ControlScope platform through OEM’s (lighting fixtures, ballasts, and controls companies as well as building automation companies). Since its commercial launch in May of 2010, Daintree has established relationships and projects with several of the strongest brands in the market and is rapidly gaining traction with a large number of industry players. The challenge for the company now is to convert the customer pipeline into revenues and ensure the successful delivery of the portfolio of products within the shortest timeframe. Given the nature of the product and the complexity of target accounts, we have identified the need for a dedicated Strategic Account executive.
Position
Daintree Networks’ Director of Sales, Strategic OEM Accounts must have a mature and seasoned understanding of the industry forces, business models, and dynamics of the overall lighting controls market. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Business Development, the candidate will be a key contributing member of the entrepreneurial team seeking to massively deploy Daintree Networks technology leveraging the strongest brands in the market. He/she will be ultimately responsible for the overall achievement of the sales targets within the strategic account portfolio, and in delivering shareholder value through sales leadership and business development prowess.
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Sales, Strategic OEM Accounts include the development and execution of comprehensive strategic and tactical plans within the strategic account portfolio.
