Leotek, a developer of LED technology, has announced the relocation of the company’s headquarters and U.S. manufacturing operations to a new, larger facility in Silicon Valley, California housing the company’s manufacturing, warehousing adn distribution operations in addition to support departments. According to the company, the move is intended to accommodate growth in the company’s core business groups: LED lighting for Traffic Signals, Commercial and Industrial applications, and National Accounts. A a result, says President Steve Bacilieri, the 3- to 4-week shipping period for products formerly manufactured in Taiwan will be eliminated, allowing lead times to decrease to 1-3 weeks, while also providing more options for accessories and finishes. Chris Nye, Director of Commercial and Industrial Lighting, also noted that because the company’s GreenCobra LED streetlight is now being manufactured at the new facility using American workers, the product now meets the Buy American provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
