Litecontrol Announces Elimination of PVC from Luminaire Wiring

With the recent development of LiteCycle wiring, Litecontrol is the first lighting company to eliminate PVC from fixture wiring.

LiteCycle wiring removes the toxicity and environmental concerns of PVC and meets the C2C product environmental rating system’s tough standards. LiteCycle wiring is UL-approved and is now provided in all Litecontrol luminaires.

The first LiteCycle material, LiteCycle resin baffle material, with 50% recycled content including 5% post-consumer material, was introduced in 2008 with the Radi-X pendant luminaire. The Radi-X is Cradle to CradleCM (C2C) Silver Certified, which exemplifies Litecontrol’s commitment to leading the lighting industry into a more sustainable way of doing business.

In 2007 Litecontrol was the first commercial lighting manufacturer to receive the Cradle to CradleCM (C2C) Silver Certification from McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC), confirming that Litecontrol’s sustainable efforts run deeper than just their advertising campaign. This accolade did not come easy. The C2C process assesses every nuance in product design and manufacturing, examining details from fixture ingredients to manufacturing practices to renewable energy initiatives.
