Stacks+Joules is a career training program for urban youth that aims to create a strong new labor force of technicians and engineers needed to implement tomorrow’s building automation.
A collaborative project with BELLEDS Technologies based at MIT, Stacks+Joules engages students in hands-on training, teaching the basics of building controls, application program interfaces (APIs), and how to develop their own APIs. Lighting is at the forefront of the education.
I’ve been told Stacks+Joules references LightNOW and Lighting Controls Association courses in their classes, and I’m happy to give all the students a shout-out. Keep up the good work!
EnergyCollective did a nice write-up on the nonprofit organization, which you can read here to learn more.
